2012-2013 Curriculum

Core Curriculum (31-44 credits)

  1. English (3-8 credits)
    • ENG 100 or ENG 101
    • ENG 102
  2. Study and Technology Skills (0-2 credits)
    Transfer students with 30 or more transferrable college credits will be able to waive the Study and Technology Core Requirement.

  3. Mathematics (3-5 credits)
    • Choose one course from the followng: MATH 120, MATH 124, MATH 128, MATH 181 or MATH 182
  4. Natural Sciences (7-8 credits)
    Students are required to take two science courses, at least one of which must include an associated laboratory course. An asterisk (*) indicates a course that may be taken for laboratory credit.
    • Natural Science courses without associated laboratory
      Choose from the followng: AST 103, AST 104, CHEM 105, ENV 101, GEOG 117 or GEOL 100
    • Natural Science courses with associated laboratory

    • COM 101 - Fundamentals of Speech Communication (3 credits)
    • Choose one course from the followng: CH 201, CH 202, COM 250, ETS 101, Any Literature ENG 231 or higher, Any Philosophy (other than 102, 105, 109), Any History, Foreign Language 111 or above, AM 145, AM 146, AM 147 or AM 148 
  8. Constitution (3-6 credits)
    • Choose from the following: CH 203, PSC 101 (from an NSHE institution), PSC 101 (equivalent from out-of-state) and PSC 100, PSC 101 (equivalent from out-of-state) and HIST 217, HIST 101 and HIST 102 (HIST 102 must be taken at an NSHE institution excluding UNR), HIST 101 and PSC 100 or HIST 101 and HIST 217
