High school students promote college benefits through Nevada State College and Basic High School poster contest
Encouraging students in grades 9-12 to recognize college as an obtainable goal post-graduation, Nevada State College and Basic High School have partnered in the development of a college awareness campaign at the high school.
Leveraging student voice and creativity, the institutions launched a poster design contest open to students of all grade levels. Participants were challenged to research college opportunities and benefits and to then create posters to share their finding with peers.

A total of 27 poster submissions were designed by students and reviewed by an NSC/BHS committee. Submissions were scored on areas such as message clarity, visual appeal, creativity, and craftsmanship. The top six scoring posters will be reproduced and displayed throughout BHS. Additionally, each original poster design will be framed and displayed permanently in the BHS Library.
