- The Nevada System of Higher Education and the Nevada Legislature officially sanctioned the creation of Nevada State College in 2001 during the 71st Session. The college first opened its doors to 176 students and 8 full-time teacher faculty on September 3, 2002. Today, NSC represents the first, four-year state college in Nevada.

Nevada State College's main 510-acre campus site is located in the southeast corner of Henderson, Nevada. The college also has a satellite campus located in the heart of Henderson’s Downtown District.
Nevada State College also has a presence throughout the entire state of Nevada with partnership programs at three colleges including Western Nevada Community College in Carson City, Nevada; Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno; and College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas.
President: Fred J. Maryanski
In December 2004, Fred J. Maryanski became NSC’s third president. Under his leadership, NSC has solidified its standing as Nevada’s first, four-year state college. The college’s student population since 2002 has increased by over 1100 percent.

Nevada State College graduated its first class of thirteen students on May 14, 2004. Since that time, NSC has graduated over 500 students in 15 fields of study. More than 80 percent of our alumni live in Southern Nevada.
