Selma Bartlett, Treasurer
Executive Vice President/Regional President
Bank of Nevada
Selma Bartlett is one of the most recognized banking names in the Henderson/Las Vegas area.
The first woman in Nevada to hold a managerial position as a bank officer in the tough banking industry, Selma Bartlett set the pace for others to follow in her footsteps. Her knowledge of real estate and banking has lent to the rapid growth of the Clark County area.
For more than fifty years, Selma has been a guiding influence (a force) in community and real estate development, helping others to establish medical and professional facilities and helping advance educational development at all levels. Her personal and financial support in the medical professions and higher education has garnered her prestigious accolades and awards.
She has touched every local industry and many individuals, both great and small, from Governors and United States Senators to the man or woman next door.
With an Elementary School named in her honor in 1993, Selma truly became a “citizen” of Henderson.
Her continuing dedication to the Henderson community and the Clark County area is illustrated by her unfaltering participation as she serves on many local advisory boards including St. Rose Dominican Hospital; James I Gibson Library Board (Trustee); Henderson Chamber of Commerce; Boys and Girls Clubs of Henderson; Humana Senior Advisory Board; Chairman of the Humana Senior Political Action Committee; Henderson Downtown Progress Association; and, Opportunity Village Building Committee.
She has also served: on the Governor’s Economic Industrial Advisory Board; the American Institute of Banking; American Business Women; and, an Eastern Star.
A Vice-Chairman of the Board of Bank of Nevada, Selma is most admired and highly respected in the local banking industry. This admiration and respect is generated by both “clients and comrades”, extending to the local religious groups and civic organizations, considering all to be her “friends”.
Generous financial contributions from Selma and her husband, Troy, have provided numerous scholarships for young students seeking degrees in the Banking, Accounting, Nursing and Teaching professions.
A fifty-two year resident of Henderson, Selma Bartlett, is a transplant from the State of Oklahoma. Over the years, she has grown to be a “flowing chamber in the heart” of the Henderson community. (Oklahoma’s loss is our great gain.)
Her “foot prints” will remain steadfast and indelible in our community for many years.
