Dan K. Shaw

Mr. Dan Shaw is a seasoned real estate executive and entrepreneur overseeing a diversified portfolio of real estate companies and properties, while giving back substantially to the communities. Mr. Shaw is the Chief Executive Officer and hands-on owner of ShawJones Partners, LLC.

Prior to forming ShawJones Partners, LLC, Mr. Shaw was owner and CEO of the following companies: RMI Operations, LLC; RMI Development, LLC; Realty Management, LLC; RMI Investment Services, LLC. An active developer, Mr. Shaw founded DKS Associates in 1988, which has developed commercial and rental properties throughout Nevada and several other western states.

In 2005 Mr. Shaw, along with two other partners, founded RMI Development, LLC. He served as President for RMI Development and was involved with overseeing Land Purchase, Joint Venture opportunities, Entitlements, Construction Bidding, and Construction Budgeting and Timelines.

As CEO of Realty Management, LLC, Dan Shaw led the largest fee management company in Nevada in developing, consulting, acquiring and managing more than 28,000 apartments nationwide. Since he founded the company in 1990, Mr. Shaw was instrumental in the development, acquisition and management of more than 1,000 apartment units each year. Mr. Shaw oversaw the property management and development of multi-family units in Southern Nevada, Texas, and other states.

Mr. Shaw was also a co-founder of RMI Investment Services, LLC. RMI Investment Services was an investment firm with a goal to provide investors with opportunities to enhance short-term income, build long-term wealth and enjoy hassle free ownership through the acquisition of diversified real estate assets. Prior to founding each of the RMI entities, Mr. Shaw was president of the Vista Group, a full service real estate development and management company. During his eight years as president, he guided the development and construction of some of Las Vegas’ finest shopping centers, office parks, apartment projects and industrial office facilities, including Renaissance Office Park I & II.

Mr. Shaw started his career as vice president of Deseret Federal Savings and Loan after studying recreation management at BYU and later graduating from the American Banking Institute with an emphasis on secondary money markets. Frequently he is called upon to provide insight on real estate development and property management issues, speaking to such business and professional organizations as the Nevada Apartment Association and several university MBA programs. Mr. Shaw is an active participant in numerous professional organizations, including the Building Owners & Managers Association and the Las Vegas Apartment Board, where he served as director for two years. He also is a past president of the National Council of Shopping Centers in Nevada.

Mr. Shaw also is actively involved in his community. He currently serves on the Planning Commission of the city of Henderson, Nevada and was formerly chairman of the city’s Parks & Recreation Board for 12 years. Mr. Shaw was recently recognized as the National Outstanding Citizen for his leadership in the parks and recreation industry. He also holds membership in several prestigious organizations, including the Green Valley Arts Council, Allied Arts Council and Boy Scouts of America.

An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Shaw competes as a rodeo “heeler” on a two-man roping team. A former coach for the Junior Olympic Ski team in Park City, Utah, Mr. Shaw began competitive snow skiing at the age of 12 and is still an active participant in this sport.

He is married and has six children.
