Determining Your Account Information - Account Descriptions

There are three important accounts required to access the computing resources and online systems at NSC which are all based off of a single NSC NetID.  These accounts include:

• WebCampus
  
• Course management system that provides online content for all courses at NSC
• System used for all online-only (Section O) taught courses
• Can be accessed by visiting http://webcampus.nsc.nevada.edu
• NSC E-Mail
  
• Free web-based e-mail account provided to all registered NSC students
• Used to provide information on upcoming events and deadlines pertaining to NSC
• Can be accessed by visiting http://webmail.nsc.nevada.edu
• NSC Novell Account
  
• Used to log into all NSC student workstations
• Provides all registered students with 150mb of file storage space and 150 free prints per semester (Note:  If you exceed the 150 prints, please visit the library helpdesk to add additional credits.  Cost per page is $.05)
• Can be accessed by visiting any NSC computing facility

Obtaining Your NSC NetID

1. Your NSC NetID is printed on the back of your student ID
2. If you don’t have a student ID yet, visit https://secure.nsc.nevada.edu/swami/index.php?nav=activate to activate your account
3. Fill in your student ID number or social security number and your date of birth in the format of MMDDYYYY
4. Your NSC NetID will be displayed as the login name.  Please retain this for your records. 
5. If you are unable to get to this point, please contact the Computing Support Center at (702) 992-2400 for assistance
6. If you successfully get to the screen above, please continue with the e-mail activation process in the next section

Activating Your NSC E-Mail Account

8. Enter and confirm a new password to access your e-mail account.  Please note your password must:
   • Contain both upper and lower case letters
   • Contain a mix of letters and numbers
   • Be at least six characters in length
   • Not be based on your name
   • Click on ‘Submit’.  Your e-mail account activation is now complete.
   • Please note your login and e-mail address.  This will be your e-mail address for the duration of your stay here at NSC.

Logging In to Your Accounts

WebCampus

1. Visit http://webcampus.nsc.nevada.edu or click on the ‘WebCampus’ link on the top of the NSC home page
2. Click on the link to Nevada State College
3. For your username, enter your NSC NetID
4. For your password, enter your birthday in the format of MMDDYYYY (e.g. – April 7th, 1984 is 04071984)
5. For your protection, the system will request that you change your password upon logging in for the first time.

NSC E-Mail

1. Visit http://webmail.nsc.nevada.edu or click on the ‘Student E-mail’ link on the top of the NSC home page
2. For your username, enter your NSC NetID
3. For your password, enter the password you used in the section ‘Activating Your NSC E-Mail Account’

NSC Novell Account

1. On the campus student workstations you will see a Novell Login window
2. For your username, enter your NSC NetID
3. For your password, enter your birthday in the format of MMDDYYYY (e.g. – April 7th, 1984 is 04071984)
4. For your protection, it is recommended that you change your password after logging in.  To do so click on Start -> Student Utilities -> Change Password
5. Note:  Please remember to log out or restart the workstation when you are finished to prevent any unauthorized access to your account
