Office of Instructional Technology Projects
The Office of Instructional Technology (InTech) serves the Nevada State College academic community through involvement in numerous projects. These projects are directly related to the InTech Mission and are aligned with our categories of service. A selection of projects past, present, and ongoing are listed below to demonstrate the scope of our service and dedication to the success of Nevada State College.
Collaboration with the Computing Support Center to create an Online Student Orientation course delivered through WebCampus.
Collaboration with the Office of Information Technology to maintain 24/7 support for WebCampus and campus technology support with Presidium.
Collaboration with the Office of Admissions to develop the ADM101 Online Student Orientation to Nevada State College course.
Consultation with the Community Based Learning program for creation of student, faculty, and community partner training.
Collaboration with all schools on the design and maintenance of their Webcampus course templates.
Collaboration with all schools on the selection, deployment, and administration of an electronic portfolio.
Collaboration with the Office of Information Technology and schools on developing a campus-wide course evaluation system.
Coordinating instructor access to and support for instructional technologies and services, such as Respondus™, StudyMate™, and Smarthinking™.
Development of several online workshops to train faculty and staff in the use of WebCampus and instructional technologies.
Collaboration with the CTLE-A in maintenance of the CTLE-A's WebCampus Portal course that, in addition to CTLE-A created materials, houses Instructional Technology resources that were located in the Faculty Resource Center.
Consultation with the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences on course quality standards leading to the creation of the eLearning Course Design and Delivery Basics tutorial that was made available to all NSC faculty.
Presentations at local, regional, and national conferences (e.g., BlackBoard, Southwest Vista Users Group, NSC Faculty Orientations).
Service on committees including the Access Team, Technology Advisory Council, Online Learning Task Force, Liberal Arts and Sciences' Core Curriculum Review, Safety, as well as staff and faculty searches.
