In a former life, Jeremy was a college pitcher with a decent fastball. One day his rotator cuff frayed and his shoulder nearly popped out of its socket. Fate brought Jeremy back to academe and to the field of psychology at the small, hometown liberal arts institution: the University of La Verne in Southern California. He began teaching at the university level while a Master's student in Experimental Psychology at California State University, San Bernardino and he hasn't stopped. Some of Jeremy's favorite courses to teach are Social Psychology, Research Methods, General Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, and Experimental Psychology. Currently, Jeremy is a doctoral candidate in Experimental Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His primary research emphases lie in social cognition, particularly the processing of the narrative form and variables that contribute to a story's persuasiveness. Jeremy's other research stream is focused on the science of teaching and learning. At NSC, he derives great enjoyment working closely with students on class research projects, facilitating active classroom discussions, trying new classroom activities, and creating online course supplements. Jeremy is writing a YouTube Resource Guide for Introductory Psychology (Wadsworth Cengage). In his spare time, he seems to find himself serving graduate student government, campus-wide committees, and the Association for Psychological Science. He apparently enjoys (or misses) being part of a team. When Jeremy can manage to sneak off campus undetected, rest assured that he is either hacking on the golf course or watching sports (i.e., Dodgers/ Raiders/ Lakers/ 51s/ Rebels).
