Student to Teacher Enlistment Project (S.T.E.P. UP)
Student to Teacher Enlistment Project (S.T.E.P.) is the product of collaboration between the Clark County Education Association Community Foundation (CCEACF), Clark County School District (CCSD), Community College of Southern Nevada (CCSN) and Nevada State College (NSC) to increase the number of Clark County students who embark on teaching careers.
S.T.E.P. is designed to identify high school juniors who would like to become teachers. Students begin their college classes in high school at the Community College of Southern Nevada. After high school graduation, the students complete the remaining courses for their Bachelor teaching degrees with Nevada State College’s S.T.E.P UP program.
Key Features- The program began in 2004 and has over 200 student participants, all of who stand to be future teachers.
- The students’ college education is fully paid by S.T.E.P.
- Each S.T.E.P. student has a guaranteed contract to teach in the Clark County School District upon completion of the program.
