Committees

Deans Council

The goal of this committee is to deal with all issues of concern regarding academic matters, to share ideas, strategize solutions and disseminate information so silos are not created.

Members include: the Provost, the three Deans and the Director of the BAS Programs.

Economic Development Council

This is an NSHE committee led by Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development, Dr. Penny Amy.

Innovation Faculty Fellowship Committee (IFF)

The goal of this committee is to work out the details of eligibility, numbe of awards and selection criteria/process for innovative, collaborative team teaching approaches to our courses.

Members include: Dr.Lori Navarrete (EDU), Dr. Tony Scinta (LAS), Mr. Warren Hioki (BAS), and Ms.Kelly Mecham (NURS)

Intellectual Property Committee

The goal for this committee is to make recommendations regarding procedures, guidelines and responsibilities for the administration and development of inventions, copyrightable works and intellectual property.

Provost Council

The goal of this committee is to deal with academic issues and concerns, to share ideas, strategize solutions and disseminate information so silos are not created.

Members include: Dr. Lesley Di Mare, Dr. James LaBuda, Dr. Erika Beck, Dr. Connie Carpenter, Dr. Francine Mayfield, Dr. Joan McGee, Mr. Warren Hioki, Mr. Gregory Robinson, Dr. Lou Milanesi, Dr. Maria Ortiz, Ms. Nicole Norian, Dr. Larry Rudd, Ms. Patricia Ring, Mr. Ryan Crowell and Ms. Stacey Adams. Regents Award Committee

The goal of this committee is to review the materials submitted and recommend one person to receive each statewide Regents award in several categories.

Representative: Dr. Kevin Graziano

Study Abroad Committee

The goals of this committee is to work out the legalities and details of offering study abroad for credit and non-credit.

Member include: Dr. Jason Lee (LAS), Dr. Sandip Thanki (LAS), Ms. Patricia Ring (Student Experience), Ms. Beth Duncombe (EDU), Dr. Sherri Coffman (NURS), and Dr. Karen Heller (CLASS)

Southern Nevada Articulation Committee (SNAC)

The goal of this committee is to share ideas, strategize solutions for articulation problems and encourage communication among the three institutions in Southern Nevada.

Members include: Dr. Mike Richards (CSN), Dr. Michael Bowers (UNLV) and Dr. Lesley A. Di Mare (NSC)

TOEFL Committee

The goal of the committee is to work out details on implementing the test for those bringing courses or transcripts from another country, how to deal with the results of the test, options for students and so on.

Members include: Ms. Ludy Llasus (NURS), Dr. Lori Navarrete (EDU), and Dr. Andy Kuniyuki (LAS)
