NSC - Admission to the Speech Pathology Program

All students seeking a degree must apply for admission to the Speech Pathology Program before registering for initial (300 & 400 level) courses with the exception of SPA 301, SPA 320 and SPA 362.

Applications for admission to the Speech Pathology Program are accepted twice each year. All application materials must be received no later than the application deadline. Applications may be obtained online at www.nsc.nevada.edu 

Application Deadlines

 Fall Semester: July 1
Spring Semester: December 1 

Criteria for Admission to the Speech Pathology Program: 

1. General admission into Nevada State College.
2. Completion of 30-45 credits that apply towards the major.
3. Evidence of having met NSC School of Education Academic Advisor.
4. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better 

To Apply for Admission, Student Must Have: 

1. A 500- word typed essay entitled “Why I Want to Become a Speech Pathologist”, 1 inch, double spaced, 12 pt font.
2. Official copy of passing scores on the reading, writing and mathematics portions of the Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST or Praxis I).
3. Signed Disposition form.
