What is unique aspect of NSC as an institution?
Teaching is about building rapport with your students. The students coming to NSC know that they are coming to a smaller institution with smaller class sizes.

Why is this important for students?
When students choose NSC, it is important they know they will have a support system in place from their professors and peers. We are going to build that rapport with them and promote success.

You have worked in the educational field in the Las Vegas area for many years. Could you share some success stories of your students?
One of the great things about being in the educational field in the Las Vegas Valley for so many years is that I have seen students I taught in fifth grade go on to graduate from NSC. To see them develop from a young child into a successful graduate is tremendously rewarding.

What is teaching about to you and how does NSC support this philosophy?
For me, teaching is about building relationships. At NSC, we value the mentor-student relationship. That is why I wouldn’t want to be teaching anywhere but Nevada State College.
