Introduction to Multicultural Affairs

The department of Multicultural Affairs is a beacon of Nevada State College leadership. As a department, we strive to ensure that all Nevadans who possess the drive and desire to continue their education have an opportunity to move forward at Nevada State College. Our goal is that the student body at NSC directly reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.

Diversity is vital in a college setting because people of every race, religion, sex and background deserve an opportunity to receive an education, regardless and sometimes in spite of economic or cultural barriers. The story of every Nevada State College student ultimately has a positive or negative effect on each of us as members of this community. If people of various backgrounds and descent are put in the position to pursue higher education, the result is an overall positive shift in the quality of life for everyone involved. We want to both welcome and celebrate diversity at Nevada State College, in hopes that our campus will reflect the diversity of the community around us.
