For High School Students
The information contained in this section is specific to students with disabilities who are attending the Nevada State High School Program.
- Nevada State College accepts responsibility for providing accommodations to any high school student with a special need/disability who is enrolled in college coursework at Nevada State College, independent of his/her high-school curriculum.
- Any high-school student enrolled in college course work at Nevada State College, with a special need/disability, must self-identify as such and meet with an R.C.S.D. administrator to obtain support and accommodation services. To schedule an appointment with an R.C.S.D. administrator, please call us at 702.992.2180, or email: NSC.RCSD@nsc.nevada.edu.
- Special-needs students currently enrolled in the Nevada State High School program should consult with the high-school administrator and an R.C.S.D. administrator to establish accommodations. The Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Section 504 Plan meets the criteria for use as disability documentation. IEP and 504 plans are evaluated in accordance with the standard R.C.S.D. procedures and may be taken into consideration when developing accommodations related to the student’s disability. High School IEPs can be used to provide temporary accommodations for students for one semester only, then current ADA qualifying documentation must be provided.
