Office of Orientation

Attending a new college is a momentous occasion in a student’s life. We recognize that this time can be fun and exciting but is also a bit scary. The Student Orientation and Scorpion Welcome programs are designed to provide assistance and guidance throughout your college career, whether you have just graduated from high school or are transferring from another college. We are delighted to answer questions, address concerns and offer a hand in finding resources to help you get off to the right start and enjoy a successful finish at Nevada State College.

With these goals in mind, we have planned comprehensive orientation and welcome programs that are unique to freshman or transfer students and the family and friends who support them.

There are two types of programs offered for you to attend. The first is a New or Transfer Student Orientation and Registration Program with multiple sessions held throughout the year. This program focuses on providing information on academic requirements, financial aid, academic advising and registering for fall classes. The dates of these programs can be under the "First Year Students" or "Transfer Students" links below.

The Scorpion Welcome focuses on introducing you to important campus resources, how to get involved on campus, NSC faculty and staff and your fellow students. This year's program will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22.

Both programs are important for you and your family to attend before you begin your first semester at Nevada State College.
